INTIMACY WITH GOD

INTIMACY with God is something all believer's should desire. The thought of a human becoming friends with God boggles the mind. As small, weak creatures, what could we possibly have in common with the Almighty God, Creator of all things?  God desires that we know Him intimately. Walking with God was common with His servants the prophets in the Old Testament. This relationship indicates a constant, familiar and confidential communion with the Lord God. It portrays intimacy and implies a situation of nearness to God. In the Bible where it says that Enoch and Noah "walked with God," it means that they both realized God's presence and enjoyed His communion in extraordinary measure. They cultivated a deep intimacy with God, not just an occasional stroll, but a walk which caused them to grow in purity and holiness.

Moses had a special relationship with God. He put up a tent on the outskirts of the camp of Israel. It was to this tent that he would go so he could talk to God face to face, just as a man speaks to his friend. "Now Moses used to take a tent and pitch it outside the camp some distance away, calling it the "tent of meeting."Anyone inquiring of the LORD would go to the tent of meeting outside the camp." Ex 33:7 This is a great tribute to Moses and conveys the idea that he was an intimate friend of God. Moses'  communion with God was a result of not only his personal contact with Him but in his openness and vulnerability with God. Therefore nothing was between God and him because Moses did not hold anything back. This unrestricted, face to face conversation with God does not surprise us because this is the kind of communication that we would expect in deep and personal friendship with our Savior the Lord Jesus. There is also another man of God that made himself a man after God's own heart, King David. He clearly enjoyed intimacy with God. One of the primary reasons David was intimate with God was because of the hours he spent in prayer and  personal communication with Him.

One of the greatest apostles that ever lived, was the apostle Paul. He too had a desire to know his God intimately. As he said "I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death."  Phil 3:10  What a powerful expression from  this man of God. Intimacy goes beyond abstract knowledge or facts, but it is knowing and being known personally. Paul was not referring to mere intellectual knowledge, he was talking about having a relationship with God on a personal level and enjoying His friendship and communion. I believe intimacy with God should become the goal of every Christian. For some reason, many of us have come to believe that was only a privilege in ages past. We have convinced ourselves and each other that people who lived in biblical times were somehow different than those of us living today, but this is not true. The great desire of God is for His people to know Him  personally and intimately. This is His call to us. He calls His sons and daughters to enter into and enjoy a close relationship with Him.

The book of Hebrews speaks of the worship that took place in the tent of meeting. They did not have the freedom of approach. They had to travel to Jerusalem. But now, at any time, anywhere, every Christian has the privilege and opportunity of intimacy with the heavenly Father, because of the shed blood of Jesus on the Cross. "Let us then approach  the throne of grace with confidence."  Heb 4:16.  If we go after God, He will go after us. When we take a step toward God, He will run toward us, and when we run toward God,  He will fly to you and me! That is the  kind of God we  worship! He is always calling us to have a warm relationship with Him.

When we come to the Father, He always responds. Without fail, He draws near to us.  What a great blessing and comfort it is for all God's children to know that we can draw near Him! Remember, Jesus gave his disciples the right to come in on the same level of intimacy as Himself. We have received the spirit of adoption  and are  able to say "Abba," Father! Our knowledge of God, which begins at conversion, must be cultivated. God wants His children to grow and mature in their knowledge of and relationship with Him. Our goal is  to live the life of faith to the fullest.  God is not very far from any of us. Paul spoke of His nearness. As Paul said " From one man he made every nation of men, that they should in habit the whole earth, and he determined the times set for them and exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each of us. For " In him we live and move and have our being." As some of your own poets have said, "We are his offspring."" Acts 7:26-28

We need to be involved in specific spiritual nurture and activities on a daily basis if we want to walk close to God.  Again as St. Paul says, " I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better."  Eph 1:17.

Let us make this our steadfast prayer too joining with the communion of believers. Amen

A Double Blessing

Like  many people on the Eastern Seaboard experienced, Hurricane Isabel came ripping through Bealeton too. Due to the loss of electrical power, it was necessary to cancel the planned weekend convocation, but the Lord did a "new thing." We regained power after approximately 28 hours. Our dear friends Colin and Barbara from Fredericksburg had no power and  came to stay with us at the Worship Center. The original vision for the property was that it would be a place of refuge. Hallelujah! Then on Monday evening following the storm - their friends, a couple visiting from Canada, came to join the team for prayer and worship, a double blessing!

A PROPHECY

Many of you have been in a place of prolonged affliction. Know that I have allowed this to teach you patient endurance — even the patient endurance which will be required of the saints in the days that are coming. Surely these are days of great tribulation. Beloved, it is written, " In the world you will have tribulation."  But fear not for I have overcome the world. So now, enter in by the narrow gate. For it is written: "Through much tribulation you enter the kingdom of heaven." Blessed, I will send you out. When you go, say this: "Repent, for the kingdom of God is at hand." This is a clarion call to repentance, as I would that none should perish, but that all would come to repentance, and repent of unbelief.

Beloved, it is written that these things must happen, for I must purify for Myself a people. It is in mercy and in truth that iniquity is purged. Through a fear of God, men depart from evil. The fear of God is that you hate sin, arrogance, pride and the unclean mouth.

Beloved this is a word of caution. Do not rejoice because demons are subject to My Name, but rather rejoice that your names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life. Remember, the greatest temptation I faced, was to do something that I did not see My Father doing. I could have done it all, but I came to do the will of My Father.  If you come in My Name, you must come in My character. For not everyone who says, "Lord, Lord" will enter the kingdom of heaven, but those who do the will of My Father.

Beloved, are you willing to let your kingdom go that I  might fully establish My  kingdom of love, joy, peace and righteousness in your heart, by the Holy Ghost?

In wrath I AM dealing with sin in the world. Is it not written: "I have created all things for Myself — even the wicked for the day of wrath?" But be blessed, for surely I AM the inheritor of the nations. I AM on the throne. Nothing will happen except I allow it. Beloved, when all these things begin to happen: Look up, for your redemption draweth nigh!

BEALETON  MINISTRIES

The following are examples of the ministry that God has raised up here in Bealeton Virginia.

 1. We just started a Thursday night fellowship which begins at 7:30 p.m. This decision was made in order to reach out to local people and beyond. We had prayed for the Lord to send people in and already about eleven are attending. They have been longing for such an opportunity, just to get away from the busy-ness of life,  and to find rest in God's presence. This also gives opportunity for The Body of Christ to communicate together.  Praise the Lord!

 2. There is a Fellowship of Indonesian Minister's in America called FIMA, who meet at The Embassy in Washington, D.C. every month.  Herry and Dolly are on the board. Sometimes Herry is invited to preach.  Isaac and I were very grateful to attend the fellowship on September 5th and look forward to future gatherings.

 3. On Sept. 6th - 7th, Isaac and myself drove to The Holy Way in North Carolina for their 1st weekend of the month gathering at Moravian Falls. It was wonderful to be there because these folk are really eager to wait on God, worship Him and get to know Him better. We encouraged the fellowship and continue to pray for Fr. Mike, Linda and Rachel and all the people there.

 4. Recently we visited the intercessors in Baltimore, Maryland at Bob and Joannie Tribull's house. Vic and Barb Buzzanca of Warrenton were able to attend also. It was a good time together learning that God wants us to improve in the area of  communicating in order to keep strong in unity. This fellowship is on the 1st Monday of each month at 10 a.m. If any of you feel called to intercession, please come join us. The next meeting is on Oct. 6th.

 5. A Weekend Convocation - Sept. 19th - 21st.

 6. A Long Weekend Convocation in Minnesota Sept. 25th - 29th.

 7. Several Indonesian visitors are expected for the 3rd weekend in October.

 8. Future retreats in October  are :  College Students from Fredericksburg and a retreat for women attending the ALPHA course.

Hallelujah! God is truly blessing the ministry at Bealeton. He has brought us through some difficult trials and we remember the same word that He spoke to the apostles by Paul in Philippians 1:6 . . . "He who has begun a good work in you will bring it to completion until the day of our Lord Jesus Christ."   Thank you for your love and prayer.

MORAVIAN FALLS MINISTRIES

The ministry at Moravian Falls in North Carolina is growing by "leaps and bounds!" Hallelujah! Fr. Mike, Linda and Rachel are so grateful for your steadfast prayer and support. The fact is, without the marvelous grace of God they could be overwhelmed. Why? Because the Lord is bringing many young people to their door for ministry. What a wonderful opportunity not only to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ in words, but also in deeds. It's quite exciting to report likewise, that what is happening, is a direct fulfillment of the prophesy given by Fr. Stube several years ago and also of visions through Iris Majorowicz and Joannie Tribull, when many of us prayed over the land. Let's give the glory to God and continue to uphold this vital ministry in every way.

READERS WRITE

Dearest Lolli,
It is so wonderful to be able to read your letters now by e-mail and to know that you are doing well in the Lord.  You asked about our circumstances. The danger of being attacked by fanatics is still always  possible but we must go on proclaiming the "good news" to the lost. When we think of the first church, we realize they were a small group, minority, poor and persecuted — yet they continued to evangelize aggressively and they  continued to grow.
The ministry the Lord entrusted to me in the village is growing wonderfully. We had to enlarge the building three times. The membership has increased to about six-hundred listed members. We had to pay dearly for  his, being attacked by fanatics five times and twice by pastors (a case of jealously I think).  I am just so grateful though to be the Lord's servant.  May the good Lord bless you and keep you in the palm of His hand. Amen
