| THE BETTER PART
By God’s precious grace, I came to recognize recently that somehow I had gotten tangled up in what we’ll call the “Martha Syndrome.” Blame it on the TV and computer, on big family concerns, on loneliness, on catastrophe’s; on the kitchen being remodeled, on the weather or on anything else, — that just won’t cut-it. “ Look at yourself oh my soul, and see the problem for what it’s worth.” Clearly, it’s a case of “slipping off the narrow path,” and it applies to both men and women. When you stop and really take a good look at yourself, this recognition becomes very clear if you’re serious about your relationship growing with Father God! What’s so amazing, is how easily one can fall into this state. You start focusing on all the problems and evil in the world; get easily distracted by daily demands; you feel caught in a maelstrom of media hype. You get caught in the trap of “busy-ness” even though much of it is “good;” you still pray, but kind of on a surface level. Then you’re inclined to get frustrated and wonder if God really does hear. You get absorbed in grief due to so much suffering, and consequently, easily slip-slide into sadness, discouragement and self-pity. Then before the “blink of an eye,”you’re on a downer, resulting in the “Martha Syndrome” — busy, anxious, irritable, judgmental, restless, maybe even angry, and in my case eating mindlessly. Now the upshot of this little article based on personal experience is, that God doesn’t want us to stay stuck in that place. To the contrary, He has the solution. Indeed He is the solution! The Lord is patient, merciful and loving. He wants us to be filled with joy, light, peace and hope, regardless of circumstances. In His loving kindness, God uses these situations on our earthly journey, working them together for good if we’re willing to cooperate with Him. So then, when we discipline ourselves to choose “the better part” and “sit at His feet,” like Mary of Bethany did, guess what happens? The Holy Spirit our comforter and guide, “brushes off the dirt,” clears up the “cobwebs” of our minds, and sets us again on the path of His righteousness. The calming effect of The Holy Spirit is a
wonderful gift!
Just as Jesus stilled the winds and waves when He was in the boat with the disciples, He uses all-sufficient ways to still our hearts when we get pulled down in the struggles of life. The ways consist of spending quiet time daily with Him, preferably early in the morning. This is the ideal setting for learning to hear His voice and practicing His presence as we yield ourselves totally. Then further scriptural requirements are to keep fellowship with other believer’s; study the scriptures; to be faithful in prayer- praise- and -worship; to partake of The Body and Blood of Christ regularly, and especially to minister His love and compassion to others, as The Holy Spirit leads. The fruit produced from faithfulness is 1. We come into a deeper level of faith in God. 2. We experience anew the “peace that passes human understanding.” 3. We discern new growth in spiritual maturity and our ministry becomes more effective. The bottom-line is, that “Abba” Father yearns for a deeper relationship with each of His children, and Jesus has shown us how to obtain it. It’s really all part of the Way of the Cross, which is the way of self-denial, which is the Way of Life! Pertinent scriptures are printed below which you may like to review. Also, if any of you dear reader’s has additional input from your own experience, please send it on to us so we can glean from it and share with others. Mt.7:14, Luke 10: 38-42, 1 John 5:17, Matt. 5:14-16, John 14:15-28, Rom.8:28, John 10:27, Rom.8:15-17. Blessing! Lolli Hart |
| Dear Holy Way Family, With this last issue of the newsletter for 2005, our thoughts turn to the wonders of God’s Creation, and to you! By the time this copy reaches your door, the Fall season will soon be upon us to offer an array of color with cool comfortable days. Next, we’ll look for ward to the great American celebration of Thanksgiving Day. Then the four week period of Advent starting at the end of November will hopefully lead us into quietness of spirit. This is the true preparation for Christmas, when we celebrate the Birthday of Jesus, King of Kings and Lord of Lords! All of these various approaches and changes point to opportunity for each one of us to be open to “new” things the Lord has in mind. With that said, we do give thanks to God for you, especially for your prayers and commitment to the Holy Way over the years. YOU are special! From all at Bealeton, Baltimore and Moravian Falls |

A BEAUTIFUL CELEBRATION On September
10, 2005, a festive gathering met at the Hyatt in Aberdeen
Maryland, to honor Robert and Joannie Tribull on the occasion of their
50th Wedding Anniversary. The celebration began with
appropriate scriptural readings and remarks by their daughter Judy.
Next, Fr. Michael Chapman performed a renewal of vows ceremony
after which he invited all guests to offer individual
prayers and blessings. Then some fun memories
were shared by son Bob before the delicious banquet was served.
After dinner, the bride and groom shared their “first dance,”
opening the way for other dancers. The entire day was
testimony of the strong thread of love between children, grandchildren,
relatives and friends. Truly, it was a gala of great joy!
To God be the Glory!

GOOD NEWS from MANADO - INDONESIA Dear Herry and The Holy Way Staff: Greetings in the Name of Christ Jesus! We give thanks and praise to the Lord because of His love and grace poured out upon all of us. Amen! Thank you so much for your prayer support and financial help to us at The Holy Way Foundation, Manado-North Sulawesi. May the Lord Himself continue to bless you! Those of us making plans to build the new training center for The Holy Way at Manado, send you this early phase information. After receiving the funds from The Holy Way/USA, we formed a team to buy a parcel of land. After looking, we found a desirable plot located just outside of the city. (Consider it like the suburbs of Manado.) Actually it is not very far from the house that Tante Monica graciously let us use as an interim place, where you visited us last year. This land is big enough to put up a building for the training center and have gardens too. Already, elders and students have begun to work on the land. They have been doing some clean up, especially cutting tall and wild weeds. This particular site will be the area prepared for the building. Also we have begun to dig a well for our water supply. Last month, we had the youth bible camp, (BICA) for five days and about 150 young people showed up from various places where we have been ministering to them. The Holy Spirit worked deeply and many of them were touched by God, including little children. After the camp was over, many of these young people registered, because they want to be at the next session for further training. We have been training about fifty young people at a time, then sending them out to villages, cities and islands for evangelism and for helping churches in their ministries. We believe that our heavenly Father who began this work in North Sulawesi will be glorified more and more, as Jesus is lifted up higher! This is our report for you at present. May the Lord Jesus bless The Holy Way and its Staff. Our prayers are with you!
Elder Jeffrey Mamangkey, Elder Philipus Sukamto and
others.
