   The Holy Way

"A highway shall be there and it shall be called The Holy Way" Isaiah 35:8

Special Edition

This special edition is dedicated in honor of our departed leader The Rev. Edwin B. Stube who has completed this earthly life and entered the fullness of joy resting in the presence of the Lord. Truly, he ran a most remarkable race for the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus, touching untold hundreds of thousands!

The Reverend Edwin Brownell Stube
1922-2001

The Rev. Edwin Brownell Stube, Episcopal priest, missionary, composer, writer, and beloved father and grandfather, mentor, friend and dear brother in The Lord, died peacefully in his sleep February 16, 2001.

Father Stube was active in the priesthood for forty three years. A graduate of Phillips Exeter, Williams College, New England Conservatory of Music and Episcopal Theological School he was ordained priest on December 11, 1957. In the Diocese of Montana, he served as chaplain to Montana State College and assistant at St. James' Episcopal Church in Bozeman. He was later vicar of St. Matthew's in Glendive and St. Luke's in Sidney and had a weekly television show.

Following his Montana years, Fr. and Mrs. Stube served as missionaries to Indonesia after founding a nonprofit mission, The Holy Way, in 1965. He was adamant about respecting native culture and consequently lived and raised his family as Javanese. With several young Indonesians, he established the Lawang Bible Training Center to train young nationals to evangelize and plant churches among unevangelized peoples. The Indonesian mission was indiginized in 1977 and has continued to flourish in every province of this Southeast Asian nation. Recently, this mission has expanded to establish training and retreat centers in Virginia and North Carolina under the direction of Herry and Dolly Stube.

Fr. and Mrs. Stube moved to the Diocese of Maryland where Father Stube was Rector of St. George's in Mount Savage, and Associate Rector at St. Timothy's, in Catonsville. His wife of 33 years, Barbara, died of complications from Multiple Sclerosis during the Mt. Savage years. His final parochial ministry was at St. Paul the Apostle Church in Baltimore. He became involved in inner city ministry to Baltimore's homeless and destitute, developing neighborhood outreach through a soup kitchen, shelter, healing services, counseling and deliverance ministries, and a church organization to rebuild inner city row houses, TriChurch Housing Development. When he retired in 1987, Fr. Stube became organist choirmaster, and priest associate at St. Andrew's and assistant priest at Mount Calvary Church in Baltimore.
Fr. Stube loved music. He was an accomplished organist who gave his final concert on December 3, 2000, at Mount Calvary Church. He received a Masters of Music in music theory from New England Conservatory of Music in 1952 and was an instructor at Williams College, teaching a course in music composition that Stephen Sondheim attended. Although he loved to play music of the early composers, particularly Bach, he wrote mostly twentieth century classical music. His composition, "City Of God" (published by Paraclete Press) will be performed at the Baltimore Composer Showcase by Mr. Thomas Hawley on March 18, 2001 at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church in Baltimore.
Rev. Stube was writing his eighth book the night he passed away. His book on church seeding, “According to the Pattern” was used as a seminary textbook, most notably at Fuller Seminary. He completed other works on Revelation, a Holy Way mission memoir, and a compilation of Barbara Stube's poetry.
Although he continued his world travels and visits to the mission in Indonesia, Father Stube lived out his days in an inner city row house in Baltimore with a private chapel on the third floor complete with pipe organ. Rev. Stube was preceded in death by his wife Barbara and his oldest son Lt. Richard Stube who died in the Viet Nam conflict. He is survived by his children, Very Rev. Dr. Peter Stube, Christopher Stube, Rebekah Hayfield, David Stube, Ph.D., Herry Stube, Andrew Stube, MBA, and Juliana Rau, RN, and also twenty one grandchildren and one great grandchild.
The Mass of Christian Burial was held at Mount Calvary Church on February 19th and Father Stube was laid to rest beside his wife at St. George's in Mount Savage. Memorials for Father Stube may be made to The Holy Way 11480 Morgansburg RD, Bealeton, Virginia 22712.

A Mandate from The Lord!

At this year’s Annual Meeting of The Holy Way, Bealeton, VA, a group of about 22-25 came together particularly seeking the mind of the Lord for our future as The Holy Way in America. Some of us had in mind that He would speak to us about structures and procedures. But the Lord had very different plans. He chose to speak to us almost entirely about holiness, commitment, and obedience.(Bear in mind, this entire portion of the newsletter was written by Fr. Stube). At the Annual meeting held on January 20, 2001, little did we know, this would be the last time for us to sit under Fr. Stube’s anointing, to worship together, and to prosper from his words and teachings..
After much praise and worship through song and dance in the Spirit, the following words came forth through several members of the assembly:
Prophecy: Fr. Stube
[You have opened your hearts to Me and heard My voice. You have lifted up your voices in worship to Me, and I intend for you to do so. But the time has come for you to move into the things I have spoken to you. I want you to be obedient to My voice, to hear and respond, not counting the cost or trying to figure out what will happen in the future. You must learn to act on what I say at any given moment. You will not be able to figure things out ahead of time, because times are changing rapidly. Many things you have thought to be stable will be found unstable; things on which you have relied will prove unreliable. Only My word will prove faithful and give you the stability and the promise for the future that you seek. Hear what I am saying. Be quick to respond, quick to act. The days ahead will test your faithfulness to Me. That faithfulness will be shown by your readiness to act on what I speak to you.]
Body Ministry: Prophecy
When you hear My voice, do not second guess what you hear. There will be no time to question, there will only be time to act. Of yourselves you can do nothing, so when I speak do not try to act in your own strength. Act in My Spirit, in the voice of My understanding, not your own.
In your natural sight, you will see things that appear as surging rivers, frightening storms, torrential rainfalls, but keep your eyes on Me. I will use these frightening things as blessings to you to open the way as you yield and are obedient to My voice

The Lord is saying also that our relationship with Him is like an unbroken line. He cautions us not to compartmentalize our relationship. Our fellowship with Him is to be constant from the moment we open our eyes in the morning. No matter what we are doing or who we are with, the Holy Spirit indwells us. This fellowship is a continual line going for the building up of our own relationship with the Lord and for the building up of the Body as we come together

Often we want to sit and watch the pioneers. We want to see if they make it first. The Lord wants us to trust Him fearlessly. There is much blessing, much promise for those who leap out in faith. We say, what if I step out? The Lord says: If you step out, I will do the things I have promised.

I have called you all by Name; I have called you as forerunners to run in My Spirit to learn of Me. You will learn the ways of the Spirit that you may move only in the Spirit, be lead by the Spirit as sons of God. You will bring others in that others may follow you. You are forerunners of what I am about to do.

Stand and be counted amidst the flood. Your mortal enemy is waging war against the Body at every turn. Do not waver when the good and evil get entangled together and the absolutes of truth get stale. Be watchmen on the wall and see how the Almighty is creating a large womb consisting of the people in the Body of Christ to bring to birth a new kingdom work as each one is used in a very specific way and a specific time. The Lord is forming us together as a body to be linked one to another. When the Lord says to do certain things, we are not to say, “Well, maybe that’s not right.” But we are to go and to move. We may be wrong but that is where the Body comes in. The Body has to be loving, protective, and honest. We have to do this together. The Lord does not want spectator. He wants participation and expectation---participation in Him and expectations of what He will do.
Fr. Mike Chapman had vision of a giant serpent with its mouth wide open.
A severe travail in the Spirit began and he began to say this word. It was Inauguration Day
Fr. Stube: I believe that the Lord has closed something in this small group and removed a threat upon us by that gaping mouth. He has closed it and as we walk in Him, it remains closed. Worship is the power! Walking in Him is the maintaining of that power!
What has been happening here in the last few minutes is related to what is happening in our nation. There is something that is being broken here. What is happening in our worship is happening also in our nation. There is a breaking that is taking place and the powers of evil are being broken. The power of the enemy is being torn down and shattered. God has begun a new and marvelous work in this country. As we remain faithful to the call of the Lord, we will see His plan unfold, not only for us as a small group, but also for our nation and for the world. What we do here this morning is of the utmost importance for the restoring of the kingdom, for what God is doing in us and through us.

We are a small group, we have been very timid, afraid to step out on the things that The Lord has said to us. The Lord is breaking that this day. As we begin to step out in faithfulness to our God, He will send in companions in great numbers. They will come from all over the world. Many will join with us, we will join with many things that the Lord is doing around the world. I know that I will not be here to see the fruition of the vision, but many of you will. God will use you powerfully to fulfill His call. Take joy in the call the Lord has on your lives.

Be faithful to pray for your nation, your President, for all in authority in this country. Pray also for Israel; for, in God’s providence, this nation and that one are closely linked together. God will fulfill His purposes. You will see them unfold, if you are faithful to Him.

This is the time of travail for the manifestation of the sons of God. This is the time for the redemption of your bodies. The Spirit will take possession of your bodies. He will strengthen you, perfect you, purify you. The Lord will work in your souls utter holiness. Your bodies, your minds, your hearts will be totally committed to the purposes of your God.

Not only the world and the Church, but particularly you, who have the first fruits of the Spirit are in travail for the coming forth of the sons of God. None of us knows how long he has, but we know the call of God. We have heard His voice, we have entered into the travail for the fulfillment of His purposes on the earth.

When we go home from here, we must not expect things to be the way they were before, not because the circumstances have changed, but we have changed. We will be able to speak and have things happen.

Teaching from Fall -winter at Bealeton.
We learned a while ago that neighborhoods can be changed by speaking prophetic words over them. We heard the testimony of a pastor who was sent to Camden, New Jersey. He found a little church on a side street in a miserable area. He assigned people to prophesy over specific aspects of the area—some to prophesy over places where people dumped trash saying that there would be flowers there instead; others were told to prophesy over the buildings which were falling down; others were given other specific prophetic functions. The first thing that happened was that the city designated $80,000,000 for improving that area of town. The buildings got repaired. They put in parks where the trash had been. Their miserable church building was across the street from a large nightclub. They now own that city block across the street, and their present large church is where the nightclub was. We tried this in a small way, in the neighborhood where we live. We started prophesying over the trash in a large vacant lot near our house. The mayor has declared days of cleanup in the city. The vacant lots near us have been cleaned up and a white picket fence put up.
My first reaction, based on past experience was, “This may last two hours.” But then I remembered we were supposed to prophesy positive things. After several months, the lots are relatively clean and kids play happily there in the afternoons, often with adult supervision or encouragement. The picket fence is still there and gets repaired when necessary. The whole neighborhood shows signs of improvement.
I want to encourage you to speak the word of the Lord over any situation that needs changing. If you speak the thing the Lord wants you to speak, it will happen. If it can be done to neighborhoods, it can be done to nations.
Word of Wisdom

The Lord God Almighty is in our midst. He has placed within each one of us His word that speaks in our hearts. In the days and weeks ahead, those words will come forth and we will sing and dance and laugh and leap, and run after Him. As you leave this place, you will never be the same again, because you have been with Jesus. He says to “Go forth in My power and strength. You have all you need because you have all of Me. There is nothing more you require. So know that I love you and walk before you. Fear not, fear not; I have overcome the world and I send you forth.

Prophecy

Keep pressing toward the promised land. The promises I present to you are promises of great deeds as well as hard work. You will be building a thick wall around the city of Jerusalem and I will be working with you to put up a big defense.

You will not be toiling alone. As you press forward, even among scoffers and laughter of everyone around you and the difficult things they are throwing your way—the threat of bombs, and other terrifying things, you will keep pressing forward. I will finish the work for you.

Stand forth in My strength and enter My praise day and night. You will experience the victory of the Lord.

When you have finished the wall of the city, I will take you to another level. I will take you into building a temple. As you build the temple of worship, I still will not be finished. I still have more to do. I will be purifying your lives after that. But I take you where you are and I lead you on the long walk which takes a lifetime.
I want you always to be open to the new experiences I have for you and not dwell on past victories. Your past victories were victories for Me but they were not something great. They were just normal for a wonder-working God.
Exhortation
Wars and skirmishes will increase. As they do, let your worship increase. It will be needed for the real war. What you see on earth will be the result of these prayers and that worship.
Teaching and Prophecy

The great battle of the ages is about to begin. That battle will take place on two levels. Michael and his angels will fight against the dragon and his angels in the heavenlies. We (the male child of Revelation 12) who have been caught up into the presence of the Lord, will be a part of that battle. God calls us into the heavenlies, not just for our own enjoyment, not even for the sake of the perfection of the Church, but that the enemy in the heavenlies may be defeated and cast down. The battle will rage furiously upon the earth. The enemy will fight fearlessly because he knows his time is short. Things that have seemed comfortable and pleasant in our lives will be disrupted.

Those who are faithful to the Lord will suffer many things, but know that in all of these the Lord is fighting with us. The battle that we fight is not against flesh and blood, but it is a spiritual battle. The Lord is calling you to become His army, not only in the heavenlies, but also on earth. That battle will be fought in hand to hand conflict with your enemy. It will be fought in many seemingly very simple and irrelevant events which will happen to you. You will be called to face many small aggravations and to fight many little skirmishes against the enemy, but know that these are all a part of the great warfare which is to take place upon the earth.

Already in many parts of the world, these skirmishes are taking place, many are being killed for their witness to Christ. Your willingness to fight to that point is the major issue in that battle.

You have not yet resisted evil to the point of shedding blood.

This will not be a time for business as usual. It is not necessarily a time to continue the things you have been doing in the same way that you have been doing them.

Many things which you have thought were simply the result of the circumstances in which you are working will be seen as actual spiritual conflicts, spiritual enemies that need to be destroyed. God will give you discernment. The Spirit will give discernment to His people to know what things you are really facing.

He will give you the weapons with which to face them. The weapons of your warfare are the spiritual gifts which you have been given. “Be prepared to use these, to face all the annoyances and all the battles of life. You cannot fight in your own strength but only by the gifts the Spirit provides for you. Be prepared in every situation to exercise the spiritual gifts which you have learned from Me.”

Be prepared, My people, for the warfare will become more and more severe. It may be that you will have to taste seeming defeat and seeming death of the vision the Lord has given you, but know that from the ruin of your dreams and from seeming defeat, victory will come forth.

Hold on steadfastly to the promise God has given you in these days. God will bring you to that place of victory. “Be faithful to Me, says your God. Do not lose heart in times of joy or in times of trouble, for I am with you, says the Lord your God.”
Word of Wisdom
In olden days, in time of war, the king would ride by his troops so the troops would remember for whom and for what they were fighting. We are in the presence of God, so He can reveal Himself to us and encourage us for the battle.
But it is we, who must be prepared to put our foot on the neck of the enemy.
[Worship in the Spirit}

Scripture

The Word became flesh and dwelt amongst us, and we have seen His glory, the glory of the only begotten Son of the Father, full of grace and truth.

Prophecy

I have walked with you every day of your life, from the moment you were conceived, up until this very moment. Every turn of your life, I have walked with you. I have gently guided you when you strayed off the path. I have led you in ways that would draw you closer to Me. In fact, I have opened every door that you have walked through

In the early days, when you sat in the pews of the church and wondered who I was and what this was all about, I was with you and you experienced for the first time in your lives the presence of My Holy Spirit and My voice alive and beating within you as the heartbeat of a child in a mother’s womb. From that time until now, I have been with you. I have shown you miracles; I have given you knowledge, I have given you wisdom all along throughout your whole life. I have walked with you.

Now I have called you into My very presence. I have called you into My Holy Place. I have called you into the very throne room in which I am seated, the place about which I spoke to you, where you are now seated. I have indeed brought you home. You are with Me now, you are with Me because this is a place that I have always intended for you to be from the very first moment of your lives. From the beginning of eternity, I conceived the idea that this would be where you would be with Me forever.

I have brought you into this place that you might enjoy it as My scriptures have told you, that you would enjoy the presence of the Lord God and the riches of His inheritance in the land of the living. Come beside Me now. I have many things to show you and many things to teach you. I have great encouragement for you that will carry you past the shadow of doubt and the valley of darkness. Come beside Me, all is light here and I will lead you. I have done this because I have a great love for you. You can feel the heartbeat within you as I speak. I have brought you here that you might know where your home truly is.

Vision

I saw a cloud. Underneath the cloud was a shadow much bigger than the cloud itself. The cloud and the shadow were moving from the East to the West. I could see the shadow moving from the hills to the mountain and the villages. Every time the shadow passed, everything was revived.

When you look at your shadow it often appears so much larger than you. It is as if we are the shadow of God cast on this earth. We are given great authority. As we go across the lands as He moves, people will be healed and saved and delivered and places will be restored. All creation will rejoice. I am reminded also that Jesus said we would do greater things than He.

Scripture: Joshua 1:1–3
After the death of Moses, the servant of the Lord, the Lord said to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ minister, “Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, into the land which I am giving to them, to the people of Israel. Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given to you, as I promised to Moses.”
Commission
I believe that Joshua 1:1–3 relates to the vision. In this Convocation, the Lord has established a new generation, a generation of Joshua. They will be a generation of conquerors, delivering the people of the world. God has prepared us here in this place where we have experienced the fullness of God and the presence of God. When we leave here, we are going to take the land. Sometimes we taste the fruit, the sweetness of the Spirit in this place and just enjoy it, but there is more than that. God wants us to capture the Promised Land.
[Worship in the Spirit]

Observation

Jesus is going around to each one of us with a burning fire of love in His eyes. He is planting a new seed of love in our hearts and that seed is going to grow into a beautiful plant for we will learn to love not only the lost but those who are deceived, and those whose lives are torn and shattered. We are going to go forth from this place with a new life and it will be the real compassion of Jesus. When Jesus had compassion, miracles happened.

Prophecy

You are the Lord’s beloved and when you walk out of this place, you will never be the same. You may look the same, but you will never be the same. You will think differently, you will see things differently and you will walk things differently. There will be things that you will look at and not want to be bothered with any longer, because the Lord is going to take you on a new journey and He is going to show you things that You have never seen before.

The Lord says, “You have come under My mantle. You are filled with My anointing. Wherever you go you are going to leave a trail.” The Lord is pleased with you and He loves your very much.

Vision

I see the name of Jesus being spoken. Every time it is spoken, there are letters shooting out across the land at the speed of light, moving quickly every time it is spoken it just shoots out. The Lord says, “That which I send out will not come back void.”

Affirmation

I believe when we are truly married to the Lamb, we speak His words, not our own words. The word of God is powerful to perform. It creates. What a high privilege and high call to be the Bride of Christ and be married to the Lamb. He will give us the words, they are His words, they are no longer ours.

Vision

I see a round pool and we are all in it and there is flickering light and it is just joy. Then I saw a person of light, clothed in a turquoise mantle.

Conclusion

The Lord has called us in this place and He has done a deep work in our hearts. The Lord sends us forth in His power for the work of these last days in which His harvest is to come to fruition and be gathered together. The Lord has prepared us. He has given us confidence to go forth in His Name to speak His words, to do His works, and to see His glory.

Letters of Sympathy

Dear Andy

I remember your mother's funeral; your father played the piano in the parish hall at Mt. Savage and I celebrated the Eucharist. It was all joy.I trust his was too. I am glad he was buried next to your mother, one of the great Christian couples I have known. Take good care Andy. God bless you.

BISHOP COX

Dear Herry and Dolly
We received the news of Father Ed’s death yesterday. Annette and I and the four of our team sat in St. Peters Square we were praying for the installation of 44 cardinals and their countries. I picked the fax from the intercessor home team and began to read of father Ed’s return home. We both began to weep, we know that father Ed’s teaching and guidance of the Holy Spirit had brought us to Rome and the mission to encourage. We share your grief and wish that we could be with you now. Now we have another saint with the Lord that will sustain us as he did here when he was with us.
Love,
Ed and Annette

Dear Peter and Andy,
I just heard by e-mail about Oom [Ed: Uncle] Stube's return to our heavenly father. I feel this loss personally and deeply. Oom Stube was the one who gave birth to me in the Lord as he was the one who baptized me in Magelang, Indonesia in 1969. More importantly, Oom Stube taught me in many ways how to grow as a disciple of Christ without compromise and how to walk in faith in the Lord leaving as dead my old identity in the flesh. We were always encouraged and lead to seek and trust Jesus in all things. This was truly the most fundamental basis of my faith once he planted this seed I have never despaired serving the Lord, because of the fire from Oom Stube that I caught at the Lawang Bible Camp.
I am thankful to the Lord God for introducing me to Oom Stube and remain convinced that it was a divine appointment to me. It changed my life forever. So give him my biggest hug and saddest goodbye, I know we will meet again in eternity. I miss him and Indonesia misses him. Good Bye Oom Stube, your efforts were not in vain and your sacrifice has brought about a harvest of thousands of souls at peace with the Lord. We all love you and thank you very, very much.

I am looking at Ed’s living legacy in Christ, seeing works added during an extension on his life granted as answer to prayer, and thinking that Jesus waited until He had people ready and in place to carry on.

Love in Christ,

Dear Herry and Dolly,
I was praying about the recent departure of your father and it seemed to me that Psalm 1 fit him, “and he shall be like a tree planted bu the rivers of waters, that brings forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he does shall prosper.”
I will miss everything about Ed, but most of all I’m going to miss having communion at his hands. That was very special. God timing is perfect, isn’t it? The mantle of the Holy Way has been passed to you and you were already proven worthy.
Love
Susan Priest

Dear Herry and Dolly,
Bill French just called me to tell me of your Dad’s “home going”. What an amazing man, and now since his earthly task is done, I know that his mantle restfully upon you. Bill told me of his prophecy last month that the ministry is going to blossom and he would no longer be here to see it. How precious that the Lord showed him that-and what encouragement to you and all the family and ministry.
Ed and Barbara meant a great deal to Dick and me beginning in the mid 60's when we heard of their works in Indonesia. The way he moved “in the Spirit” was awesome, and we learned so much from him. It was such a privilege to host him and help care for Barbara when they spent some time at Calvary Church of the Valley with us in Scottsdale, AZ, as he was bringing Barbara back to the USA. We were incredibly inspired at visiting Lawang with him in 1980, and seeing the ministry there first hand. Maybe you both remember visiting us in Scottsdale, also and staying in Desert Windows, the cottage next door to Calvary Church.
Dick was called home in 1990, so I imagine he is up in glory rejoicing with Ed and Barbara. May the Lord comfort you, dear ones, and all the family as I know you will miss your dad, You are much in my prayers.
In Jesus’s love

Dear David
Part of your dad wanted to retire to Montana. He got hooked on the East Coast, though. Baltimore's the home of the divergent spirituality he loved. Father Woolley's sermon was right about him. "If this requiem mass is any indication of who this man is . . . a priest, a teacher, a missionary, an evangelist, a father, a friend . . . ." Father Stube was definitely an expert.
The one piece of advice he used to give to everyone missionaries, junior wardens, high school teachers was walk in the Spirit at all times. This was his burning question. Some people used to get offended by this advice. Why should a junior warden or a church janitor need to walk in the Spirit? Why can't a teacher just use common sense? Father Stube asked why the Holy Spirit couldn't be sensible? Why would the Holy Spirit be against education? Just because He's God, do you think he doesn't want to use Generally Accepted Accounting Principles or hire a CPA just like everyone else? Why can't a CPA hear the voice of the Lord? Can't he be a sheep too? Somehow, your dad makes perfect sense now, at least to me. I suspect he'll make lots of sense to a lot of other people shortly. It has always been his pattern to be the hero after he was gone and couldn't claim the glory. This time, which may be the first time in his life, he's gone somewhere that's not harder than the last place he was, and he gets to partake of the glory.

Douglas Preston, Nov. O.S.B.

Dear Herry and Dolly,

What a great privilege in the Lord to have known your father and grand father. Ed was a mighty man of God, a holy man. I always felt his love and Godly strength. I praise God. I also consider it a tremendous blessing in the Lord to have you ( the whole family) as part of my life!

I love you,

Helen Anderberg

Herry, Family and friends of the Holy Way,
You have been in my thoughts and prayers since Pat Acker called to tell me of Father Stube going home. I attended all but one of the Holy Convocation meetings in the summer , Fr. Stube did so much to help me during all these years and for this, I am deeply grateful. I think of his walking among us, saying “Glory” or “Glory to God”! And now he has gone ahead of us and is experiencing the joy and wonder of it all.
And may He help you continue the work of the Holy Way!

ABOUT THE HOLY WAY

One morning at Holy Convocation last summer, we received a new clarity about where The Holy Way is at the present time and where we have to go to fulfill the mission the Lord has entrusted to us. Joannie Tribull opened the topic with the following prophetic prayer for The Holy Way and its mission in this country. We ask that you will all join in this prayer and then read the words that follow it prayerfully and continue to pray as the Lord leads you.
Prayer
We have talked about speaking things into being, Right now, I would like you to join me in this prayer:
Father you have raised up The Holy Way in this country. You have brought us forth. You have also provided us with enough land all over the country. You have also raised up and brought people from Indonesia and even this country. Father, we now have places that are open and we need workers. We are asking now in Jesus’ name and we speak it into being that you open up the hearts of your people and let them know when they are called to your work and where they should be. Put a fire in their hearts. Wherever they are, Lord. They may be across the ocean; they may be somewhere in Alaska. You know where they are. You have called them for years. But now the call is on their lives. And now, Father, in the Name of Jesus, I speak this into being.
Statement about The Holy Way written by Fr. Stube

The Lord has provided wonderful things for The Holy Way. He has provided the possibility of building posts on lands all across the country. He has also provided finances miraculously for development of the lands that we have so far been able to do something about. We have been able to open up two places.

Our most urgent need is for laborers. We are dreadfully short-handed. We know that our Lord told us to pray that He would send laborers into His vineyard. We have one couple in each of the two lands that have been opened. We have two young men from Indonesia that are helping with the ministry in Virginia.

I feel strongly that for developing new works, there should really be at least two couples, or one couple and several single people. So we need further people in each of the places we have started, and we need more people to start the others.

These people will have to hear the voice of the Lord and respond and then they will need to be trained. When people present themselves for ministry in any of our posts, they will have to be trained so that they know what our purposes are and how we operate. The only place where we have adequate space at present for training is in Virginia. Our place in North Carolina will be ready in a few months. We have a number of people that have heard the Lord’s call to some of these ministries, but they have not quite made up their minds or got up their courage to step out into these ministries.

I do not want to put a trip on anyone, but the Scripture does say that we should pray for laborers to be sent into the vineyards. There is a great acceleration taking place in our days. There is a vast opening up of people throughout our nation to the exact message that we have to present. We are being presented with a great opportunity to promote the teaching that the Lord wants us to bring forth at this moment.

We are aware of several ways in which we can transmit the message the Lord has given us, and there are no doubt other ways that we have not thought of. I have recently discovered several open doors on the Internet that I had not known before.

What we have experienced in our worship together needs to be disseminated. There is a new openness at the present time. A few years ago, people in this country were quite closed to the message with which The Holy Way has been entrusted, but the climate has changed greatly. Doors of opportunity are opening. We have had some wonderful times with the Lord. The Lord has taught us a whole new level of Christian life and ministry. This experience needs to be exported.
Joannie has already spoken this into being. I ask you to continue to pray that this vision may indeed become a reality.
Guidelines given by Fr. Stube
In the days since Holy Convocation, quite a number of people both long time members of The Holy Way and new people have heard the Lord’s call to move into full-time ministry with us. We would like to present some guidelines for these people. The following guidelines suggest themselves on the basis of things we learned in Holy Convocation as well as principles that we have established over the years.

1.Ministry grows out of worship. The level of our ministry does not rise above our level of worship. In Holy Convocation, we always started with worship in the Spirit. This involved singing in the Spirit (i.e. in the language of the Spirit), singing new songs. inspired by the Spirit, exercising the gifts of the Spirit—words of knowledge, wisdom, prophecy, tongues and interpretation, visions, to name a few. This ministry to the Lord in the Spirit, led to minister one to another, also by gifts of the Spirit.

2.Entire sanctification. Throughout Holy Convocation, the Lord did a deep purifying work in each of our lives. Some of this was done by speaking it into being through prophecy and other gifts of the Spirit. Some of it was accomplished sovereignly by the Lord in times of utter silence before Him.

3.The Holy Way believes that the Body of Christ must be committed to every-person ministry. The leadership must be on the bottom. They lead primarily through prayer and trust in the Lord. Everyone is expected to be obedient to the guidance and empowering of the Holy Spirit.

4.Every member of the Body of Christ has a specific function or area of ministry. The five-fold ministries of Ephesians 4:11 form the basis for leadership. Their primary function is to train and enable all the members of the Body to develop their own ministries. In addition to these five-fold ministries, there will be: intercessors, healers, exorcists, and many others.

5.We have to be able to trust the Lord for all of our provision. The Holy Way andits members do not do fund-raising for our projects, ministries, or ministry journeys, nor are there any humanly guaranteed salaries. When the Lord calls, He provides. This means that we do not have to be hindered for financial reasons in accepting the Lord’s call.

6.Those who are called to minister in the name of The Holy Way will need to be well trained in theabove principles. New members of The Holy Way who want to minister under our protection willbe expected to spend a few months at one of our centers learning firsthand how all of this worksout in practice.

We greatly desire the prayers and intercessions of all of our readers for those who are hearing the Lord’s call to ministry and that He will continue to speak to more people. The harvest is ripe. Do not be afraid to speak prophetically over the Lord’s call.

We start each day with prayer together from 6 to 8 a.m. After breakfast, we may work outside on the property for several hours. Then we do Bible study, either corporately or personally. Each evening, we gather again for prayer and worship at 7:30, continuing as long as the Lord leads.
Wednesdays are for fasting and prayer
Wednesday evenings, we have fellowship with different churches around us as the Lord leads.
Friday nights, we have fellowship with cell groups.
We are also involved with several Indonesian churches, cell groups and other ministry.
Twice a month, we invite friends in the area and beyond to join us for prayer and worship.

Visit us in North Carolina
The house in Moravian Falls is almost complete and will soon be ready to open.
Please note that, like all places where the Holy Way meets, guests are not only welcomed, but encouraged to join as the Holy Spirit leads. Although we believe the agenda the Lord has given us is our rule-of-life, guests change the atmosphere of our life and worship and are, we pray, changed by it. Let us know when you can come to visit..

HOLY WAY LITERATURE

WE FEEL VERY STRONGLY THAT THE LORD IS GIVING US REVELATION FOR THESE DAYS IN WHICH WE LIVE. It is a great burden on our hearts that this be communicated as widely as possible to the Body of Christ. At the June meeting of the Holy Way fellowships of Baltimore and Virginia, we felt that it would be much more in the pattern of the Holy Way if we not charge any set prices for our books and pamphlets, but that we distribute them freely, relying entirely on contributions as the Spirit leads.
