SPIRITUAL THIRSTHave you ever been thirsty? I don't mean the average thirst where a drink of water satisfies after working hard in the garden on a hot summer day. I mean really thirsty, where your tongue sticks to the roof of your mouth and all you can think about is water. Have you ever been thirsty like that? Thirst is one of the most powerful spiritual symbols in all of scripture. As dehydration draws the whole of our physical being to a longing for water, so a spiritual void will draw our spirits into a search for the deeper meaning of life. The Psalmist expressed it this way, "As a deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God." Psalm 42:1-2. We must thirst and long for God and for spiritual living. In John 7:37. Jesus speaks: “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink.” We must capture this type of spiritual thirst!Notice the condition that Jesus lays down. "If anyone thirsts!” I thank God for that word anyone! Jesus plainly said if anyone wants a relationship with God, it’s available. If anyone wants spiritual living, he or she can obtain it. If anyone seeks God they can find Him. But notice , this is specifically addressed only to those who are thirsty. The problem with many people is, they are just not thirsty for God and spiritual living. Many people today are drawing water from the wrong well. They try to quench their thirst, [desires] in all the wrong places. The result is they keep going back to the same old fears, the same old faults, the same old failures and frustrations. They drink from the worldly well instead of from the well of life which is found in Christ Jesus only! I am convinced, that before we can ever have a close relationship with God, we've got to thirst for Him. Remember when Jesus cried in a loud voice on the last and greatest day of The Feast of Tabernacles? "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink.” If one desires to gain spiritual thirst, one must not only desire it, but must come to Jesus to obtain it. That is exactly what Jesus tells us to do. "Let him come to Me and drink”. It is right here that so many Christians miss it. They come to the bank of the river, they see the water, they watch the waves lap up on the shore, they even see the reflection of their face on the water, but they don't drink. You see, God will lead us to the water, but He won't make us drink. If we want to be filled, we must drink. This is what we have been experiencing lately in our center at Bealeton. I have often observed , that when we come for worship and our hearts cry out longing and thirsting for God’s presence, we go back home filled with joy, peace and hope! Many who worship at the Prayer Center become brand new men and women of God. Why? Because their spiritual thirst was satisfied as they drank. Do we have this spiritual thirst that Jesus requires? If not, let’s say a silent prayer and ask God to fill us with spiritual thirst. Remember, Jesus said, "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled” Matthew 5:6. Let’s fill up our spiritual tanks and daily go forth as brand new, regenerated Christians. Some of you may be tired of just going through the motions, knowing deep down inside that you are spiritually dying or dead. If you are living without spiritual passion and zeal for God and if you’ve tried everything the world offers finding only discouragement, accept His invitation now! Jesus wants us to experience His presence personally in our hearts; He wants us to delight in victorious living and to receive His power. Friends, just come to Christ Jesus and drink of His Spirit! He will fill us until we overflow to become a river of living water that will satisfy our souls and bless others as well. Amen.

A Holy Way Board Member Joins the Holy Way
Staff in Moravian Falls, North Carolina
Pat Acker is a licensed minister, clinical worker and certified drug and alcohol counselor. She has been a member of the Holy Way for 19 years, and on the Holy Way Board of Directors since 2001. Pat has also been active in attending monthly mini--convocations in Bealeton, Virginia since they began in 2001. Little did I expect in August of 2002 to undergo a drastic testing of my faith and trust in God. At “Holy Convocation,” a word from the Lord was spoken to me to leave my full-time job of 55 hours per week, with two daughters in college and to trust the Lord to increase my private practice of Christian Counseling. Whoa! Needless to say, after 5 months my practice decreased from 14 to 12 hours per week. When “fear” began to set in, I pressed into the Lord and He revealed that in my heart, I did not fully trust Him to provide for me. Essentially, I could not believe that He truly was “Jehovah Jirah” my Provider. Why? Well my life experiences of a father’s sudden death, a husband’s 9 years of unemployment and a remarriage of unexpected and painful adultery left me with overwhelming fear that the men in my life were not there for me and could not be trusted to fulfill their responsibilities. Because of these painful experiences of rejection and abandonment, I projected onto Father God, that He to could not be trusted. Once I faced these issues and dealt with the “ungodly beliefs in my heart” and the “lie about Father God” the Lord Jesus healed me. In fact I had an awesome experience in the spirit…of sitting on “Abba Father’s” lap. He spoke such loving words of comfort and reassurance. He told me that I could rely on Him totally because He was trustworthy, loving and faithful, and that he would never leave me. Within two weeks my practice grew from 12 to 25 hours per week. Ten weeks later I joined a Holy Way team headed to Jerusalem for two weeks to make intercessory prayer. He also provided the $8000.00 which I needed to pay taxes, a college deposit and regular monthly expenses. Then in September 2002, the Lord impressed upon me that it was time to sell my house of 26 years. So by June 2003, my house was sold, and I was off on a 3 month sabbatical, which the Lord extended to 5 months in order to help my mother. During part of the sabbatical, I visited the Holy Way at Moravian Falls, North Carolina. The ministry there is headed up by Mike and Linda Chapman, who minister primary to troubled youth. Unknown to me, the Chapman’s had been aggressively praying for the Lord to bring them additional help. What happened next is a far cry from my original plan to move to Virginia Beach! One night during evening worship with Mike and Linda there were two prophetic encounters. Next I had an ultimate Holy Spirit encounter on top of the mountain in an apple orchard. It was there the Lord asked me to serve Him with The Holy Way ministry at Moravian Falls. I was ready to obey and serve him. In no time at all, the Lord started knitting my heart together with Mike, Linda and Rachel to build community. We are still growing together in the Love of Jesus just doing simple things such as cooking and housekeeping but mostly in ministering to the Lord and to all those who come here for inner healing and deliverance. The Lord is moving and is to be praised!
God Bless you all, Pat

WE HAVE THE MOST POWERFUL WEAPON ON EARTH
“PRAYER” IT IS OUR WEAPON OF MASS DELIVERANCE. Since receiving personally the atoning sacrifice of Christ Jesus the Lord, the believer is no longer an earthly creation having a temporary spiritual experience, but a spiritual creation having a temporary earthly experience, because God by His Spirit has shined in our hearts! It is in Him that we live and move and have our being, for Christ has become our very life. The battles we have in this life are never against people, but against the spiritual forces of principalities and powers. Understanding this, we can then love the person, yet pray in the Name of Jesus. Prayer can change the world! It can alter the course of wars, bring revival, change our church, our neighborhood, you and me. There are various types of prayer and types of circumstances in which prayer is required. We do not always know how we should pray, but the Spirit makes intercession for us according to the will of God.(Ro.8 26-27). When we put on our spiritual armor which protects us from outward attacks of the enemy, we also use our offensive weapon the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. Of all nine supernatural gifts of the Spirit ,the worship gift of tongues is the only one for our personal spiritual edification (1Cor 14:2,4). It builds the spiritual edifice of the Kingdom of God in us. Our God-given prayer language is given to get us quickly into the realm of the Spirit where spiritual battles are won. It is not an operation of the intellect, but of the Spirit of God. Corinthians 14:15 shows us that we should pray and sing with our understanding and also with the prayer language we have never learned with our intellect. Sometimes we do not know how we should pray in a given situation or may not even know a prayer need exists. At these times, we do well to pray in our prayer language because the all-wise God knows exactly how to pray through us to fulfill His purposes. In Ephesians 6:1 the believer is exhorted: “praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit,” (in tongues.) Whereas, our spiritual armor is our protection, the spirit language builds us up on the inside and brings us into the unlimited realm of the supernatural Spirit of God. If you haven’t received your prayer language, please know that praying and worshiping in tongues should be as natural as breathing to the believer, even a child can receive. The biggest battle is the mind, and when the tongue begins making sounds the mind has never learned, the intellect will tell you it is just gibberish, that you are just making it up. Of course, the devil does not want you to have the ability to be built up spiritually. How it sounds is really no business of ours as we won’t know the language God is developing in us anyhow! God only gives good gifts to His children, so claim His promised gift, then launch out in faith and start expressing love to him in other sounds. The more boldly you launch out, even singing in sounds you have never learned, the more liberty, anointing and joy you will experience. Acts 1:8 “But ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you; and ye shall be witnesses unto Me..................” Rev C. Howell
